Paris Ile-de-France
Though this is officially the tourist site for Ile-de-France there are lots
of great links for sites throughout France.
The Loisirs et visites - Visiter section is outstanding for
finding fun places to virtually visit.
France Miniature
The site was up and down for a while but seems to be back in good form.
You can now take virtual visits of tiny Gaul via 360-degree videos of the
mini-monuments. There is complete
price and location information for students to navigate as part of their visit.
Air France
This site includes the type of information that you would expect, but also
includes vacation packages to explore. The flight reservation section could be
great for country/city names in French.
Vacances Carrefour
The strength of the site are the six main categories which include packages
(e.g. Coups de coeur). and This online travel agency is a
great site to explore.
TGV
The TGV site has become a rather elaborate portal.
You can still use the interactive map but you have to navigate to it
yourself: Go to: TGV& Achat and then choose Choisir sa
destination.Good
for geography and virtual travel. (This
site is the basis for the above activity.)
Yahoo:
Météo
The Yahoo weather site in French has useful pictures (icons) and broad weather
information. (This site is used in the above activity.)
Office du Tourisme
et des Congrès de Paris
You can navigate the information on this site in both French and English.
A useful portal for the touriste looking for the scoop on Paris.
Les Pages de Paris
This site, too, can be navigated in French or English and is another good
resource for the budding tourist.
Paris-Tourisme
Another bilingual site with a tourism focus.
The hotel links are featured first, but there is information here worth
pursuing.
Cimetière
du Père Lachaise
You can take a virtual visit of this famous Parisian cemetery to visit
everyone from Max Ernst to Marcel Proust. And,
yes, Jim.
Regie Autonome
des Transports Parisiens
Lots of fun info including pages on Le Métro.
Also includes an interactive map for both the subway lines and the
neighborhoods of Paris.
Please note: I am not suggesting that Aix-en-Provence is the heart of the Francophone world. I do think, however, that it can be useful and entertaining to focus on a tout petit coin. (And it indulges my nostalgia.)

Don't be fooled by the unappealing first page, this is a very nice site with
rich descriptions in French and lovely corresponding photographs. A great first
step.

Another tourist center. This site includes useful interactive maps.
Mairie
d'Aix-en-Provence
Includes a calendar of happenings and other useful links.
Atelier Paul Cézanne
Aixois consider Paul Cézanne their son. His atelier is a featured site just
outside of the city. This website reproduces much of the studio's charm via
photos and descriptions. Includes visitors information and e-boutique.
